Hezbollah launched two large rocket barrages at targets in the Israeli cities of Haifa and Krayot, the Lebanese resistance movement announced on the afternoon of 8 October, as the movement's deputy secretary-general gave a speech assuring resistance to Israel will continue.
The missiles were launched “In support of our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in solidarity with their valiant and honorable resistance, and in defense of Lebanon and its people, and in response to the brutal Israeli violations of cities, villages, and civilians,” the movement stated.
The Times of Israel said 100 rockets were fired at Haifa in the heaviest attack on the city since the start of the war between Hezbollah and Israel, which began exactly one year ago.
Due to the barrage, the Israeli Channel 12 reported damage to a multi-story building in Kiryat Yam, located in Haifa Bay.
Hezbollah has continued to fire rockets at Israeli targets, including at Tel Aviv, despite the heavy losses it has suffered in recent weeks, including the death of the movement’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, and multiple top commanders.
