SOURCE: SANA

President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday underlined that the most important factor distinguished in this Arab Summit is the Arab countries and leaders' approach to a close vision that was not existed during the previous summits.

"Any step forwards will be good and meets our aspirations," President al-Assad told reporters following an Arab summit closed-door meeting.

On the situation in Lebanon and Syria's role in tackling it, the President said " this matter is realized when the Lebanese brothers agree," adding "Syria's role will be helpful, as the role of any Arab country, if there is a Lebanese consensus on one thing."

On the Arab peace initiative, President al-Assad stressed "this is no amendments on this initiative."

He described Syrian relations with Arab countries as excellent and friendly, adding "this is the natural position of Syria… Syria has not any other position."
