BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:05 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their large-scale offensive in the eastern countryside of Aleppo today, striking the Islamic State (ISIL) forces at a number of villages in the Deir Hafer Plain.
Led by their elite Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army began the day by liberating the town of Al-Mahdoum after overrunning the Islamic State’s defenses in this rural area of east Aleppo.
Following the liberation of Al-Mahdoum this afternoon, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies turned their attention to the last two villages located directly southwest of the strategic Jirah Military Airbase.
