First group of besieged civilians leave old city of Homs- SANA

Homs, (SANA)- The first group of civilians besieged in the neighborhoods of the old city of Homs have been allowed out of the city towards Deek al-Jinn area, SANA reporter said Friday.

The reporter stressed that 83 civilians have left the old city and all of them are children, women and elderly people.
Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi told SANA that all necessary arrangements for evacuating the civilians besieged in the old Homs neighborhoods were completed, adding that the Governorate has prepared makeshift residential centers that can accommodate 400 persons.

The Governor highlighted that the agreement was reached due to the efforts exerted by the Governorate throughout the last six months as the armed terrorist groups were preventing the civilians from existing these areas.

UN Resident Representative in Syria Yacoub El-Hillo stressed that all the parties are committed to implementing the agreement reached with the Governor of Homs to allow besieged civilians out of the old city including children, women, injured and elderly people.
