One day after entering the imperative town of Al-Sirmaniyah inside the western countryside of the Al-Ghaab Plains, the Syrian Arab Army’s 45th Regiment of the 1st Armored Division – in coordination with the Imam Al-Baqeer Brigades of the National Defense Forces (NDF) – have captured the town of Safsafa following a morning of intense firefights with the Islamist rebels of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra”, and Ansar Al-Sham.
The town of Safsafa is located on the border of the Latakia and Hama Governorate; it is situated just south of the recently captured town of Al-Fawru in the Ghaab Plains of the Hama Governorate.
