The United States is using Nusra Front terrorists as a proxy group to defeat the Syrian army and to overthrow the government of Bashar al-Assad, Marcus Papadopoulos, publisher and editor of Politics First told Press TV.
The analyst also said the Americans have been supporting al-Nusra Front, which recently changed its name to Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, with weapons, money and logistics from the first day it emerged in Syria.
He went on to say since the US-led air campaign began, the Americans have not even once attacked al-Nusra terrorists.
“They [the Americans] know that al-Nusra after ISIS (Daesh) is the most formidable Islamist terrorist group in Syria and they know that al-Nusra poses a terrible threat to the Syrian army and the Americans want to see the Syrian army defeated and therefore with the Syrian army being defeated that would mean the collapse of the Syrian government and an Islamist regime coming to power in Damascus,” he stated.
