The Syrian defense minister, deputy premier Lt. Gen. Mustafa Tlass on Wednesday in Damascus received the Turkish military delegation led by Lt. Gen. Rashad Tourgot, who is the chairman of the principles and planning commission at the Turkish army and members of the accompanying delegation.
Present at the meeting were the director of the political administration at the Syrian army and the Turkish ambassador in Damascus.
Talks dealt with friendship and cooperation relations between the two friendly countries and means of developing them in the service of the interests of the two peoples in Syria and Turkey.
Earlier, the Syrian army deputy chief of staff Lt. Gen. Ali Aslan discussed with the Turkish delegation relations between the two friendly countries and mechanism for developing them.
The Turkish lt. Gen. and members of the accompanying delegation arrived in Damascus on Monday morning in an official visit which will last for several days. The visiting delegation visited the Martyrs monument at Qasyoun's mountain, the October Liberation war panorama, the Umyammad Mosque and old markets in Damascus.
In conclusion of his visit to the liberated city of Quneitra, the visiting delegation chairman stressed Turkey's backing to the establishment of a just and comprehensive peace in the region, based on the international legitimacy resolutions. He noted his country's backing to Syria's efforts to restoring back her full usurped rights until June 4, 1967 border lines.
