The Syrian Arab Air Force, alongside their counterparts from the Russian Air Force, have been lighting up the western Raqqa countryside with non-stop airstrikes for the last two weeks as their ground units attempt to advance towards the strategic Tabaqa Airport.
On Wednesday, the Syrian Air Force struck a command-and-control center that belonged to the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) near the Tabaqa Military Airport, killing several combatants from the aforementioned terrorist group in the process.
According to the Syrian Air Force command, the airstrike killed the top Islamic State emir of the Tabaqa Military Airport.
