Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun attended, but later left the national dialogue that was held on Tuesday as sources warned that the session could be the last.
The Change and Reform sources told al-Akhbar newspaper that their opponents are preventing Aoun from making any gain.
Tuesday's “session could be the last if there was no clear answer on the settlement” reached between Aoun and several officials on the promotion of military officers, they said.
Speaker Nabih Berri has set three days of sessions starting Tuesday.
LBCI television reported that Aoun and Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan left the meeting after it resumed following a lunch break.
The meeting was preceded by a closed-door meeting between the FPM chief and speaker during which the two officials discussed a possible political settlement and the promotion of three generals.
