The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) has had a rough 48 hours inside the Aleppo Governorate’s northern countryside, as the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) – has taken control of four imperative sites located on the outskirts of the provincial capital .
On Sunday afternoon, the Syrian Armed Forces captured the Aleppo Free Trade Zone, the Aleppo Juvenile Detention Facility, Jabal ‘Antar (mountaintop), and the town of Kafr Tunah after intense firefights with ISIS that resulted in the aforementioned terrorist group’s withdrawal to the nearby village of Fafeen in the northern Aleppo countryside.
