The Maronite Patriarch, Bechara Rai, hoped that “politicians who obstruct the election of a president will take the right decision to save the country”.
In his Sunday homily, he called on the politicians “to assume, one by one, responsibility for the ruin of the country and its institutions”, while stressing that “by taking a courageous decision, they will realize their error with regard to the people”.

On the other hand, the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Beirut, Elias Audi noted that “a week remains until the anniversary of the tragedy (Beirut Port explosion) that affected every household in Beirut , and we are still waiting for the truth and justice, hoping to ease the bleeding hearts and comfort the tormented souls.”
He emphasized the need for righteous individuals to stand against injustice, oppression, and the fragmentation of the state, starting with the presidency.
