Russian forces are still stationed at 17 observation posts in area adjacent to the occupied Syrian Golan in Al-Qunaitrah, Daraa and Rif Dimashq provinces to ease off military tension in the region.
Russian forces stationed at the strategic Talt Al-Harah (Al-Harah hill) post in Daraa countryside, which overlooks areas in the occupied Syrian Golan, after having been deployed with regime forces around the hill for three days following a request from intermediary parties to inspect the site and ensure that there were no members of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps or Hezbollah stationed on the hill.
According to reliable SOHR sources, Russian forces conducted surveillance and monitoring operations in the area to make sure that it was free of Iranian-backed militias and Hezbollah.
On October 7, SOHR sources reported that Russian military forces stationed in Tel Al-Hara in northern Daraa countryside withdrew suddenly from the site, evacuated the site of equipment and removed the Russian flag, for unknown reasons.
