Egypt Islamist group says protests, violence a “foreign conspiracy”- Bikya Masr

CAIRO: Egypt’s ultra-conservative Salafist al-Nour Party has called the ongoing protests and clashes with police a foreign conspiracy.

A spokesman for the conservative party said on television network CBC that “foreign hands” were responsible for the violence that continues into its second consecutive day in central Cairo.

The statement echoed the Muslim Brotherhood, who claimed early Thursday morning that the violence at a football match in Port Said that left 75 dead and hundreds injured was a conspiracy by an “invisible hand.”..
