The foreign-sponsored Syrian opposition has called upon Arab states to pressure the international community to supply militants fighting against the Damascus government with "sophisticated" weapons.
Addressing the 25th Arab League summit in Kuwait City on Tuesday, Ahmad Jarba, who is the president of the so-called Syrian National Coalition, urged Arab leaders to "pressure the international community to abide by its promises to supply sophisticated weapons” to militants operating inside Syria.
He also called on Arab leaders to hand over Syria's Arab League's seat as well as the country's embassies worldwide to the foreign-backed opposition.
Earlier, Saudi Crown Prince Sheikh Salman bin Abdulaziz, whose country is a major supporter of militant and terrorist groups fighting against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government, accused the world of "betraying" the so-called Syrian opposition by failing to arm them.
