TRIPOLI, Lebanon: The Lebanese Army said Friday it had discovered in Tripoli’s vegetable market a booby-trapped rocket along with five bombs primed to be remotely detonated and target troops in the embattled northern city.
The Army also seized large quantities of arms during stepped-up raids in Tripoli in search for fugitive militants who fought troops last week.
The incidents come a day after the military seized a separate weapons cache in the city amid a massive crackdown on suspected militants across north Lebanon.
