BEIRUT: Rai reiterated his calls for a swift presidential election, a new electoral law and public office appointments Sunday, El-Nashra said.
“Politicians should work with a sense of national responsibility to elect a president as soon as possible, draft a new parliamentary law, hold elections according to the new law and revive public institutions, and make the necessary appointments in public institutions,” Rai said during Sunday Mass.
He also hailed Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouk’s security plan in Roumieh prison, expressing hope that a similar plan would succeed in the northern Bekaa.
Rai also commented on the murder of Yves Nawfal demanding that justice be served and stating that such crimes are not acceptable in “our Christian community,” El-Nashra reported.
