BEIRUT: A ISIS suspect detained over terrorism charges confessed Wednesday to beheading the first of four Lebanese captives to be killed by ISIS and the Nusra Front, judicial sources told The Daily Star.
Military Judge Imad Zein interrogated Wednesday cousins Omar and Bilal Mikati, who were charged this month with belonging to ISIS, committing terrorist acts and murdering Lebanese Army soldiers.
Bilal Mikati confessed to beheading Lebanese soldier Ali al-Sayyed, who was being held captive by ISIS militants on the outskirts of Arsal last summer, according to judicial sources.
Omar Mikati also participated in the beheading and was present at the scene of the crime.
Sayyed was the first of four captives to be killed by ISIS and the Nusra Front.
