The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) has been encircled by the Syrian Armed Forces and the predominately Kurdish “People’s Proptection Units” (YPG) in the Al-Hasakah and with no outlet to retreat, they find themselves in an unfavorable predicament that will require them to either surrender or fight their way out of the provincial capital.
ISIS attempted to do the latter on Sunday morning, as the terrorist group’s armed combatants attacked numerous sites inside the provincial capital in order to find a break-through point to reopen their imperative supply lines to their entrenched fighters embedded between the Syrian Armed Forces and the YPG’s frontlines.
Flustered and exhausted, the terrorist group attempted to recapture the Red Villas in the provincial capital’s eastern outskirts; however, their assault would fail to yield any gains, as the YPG secured all points in this rural area after a two hour battle.
