BEIRUT: Statistics Lebanon has been tasked with creating an opinion poll to determine which presidential candidate Lebanese Christians favor, the company confirmed Monday.
A local newspaper said preparations were underway ahead of the polling involving 4,600 Christian citizens.
It said Statistics Lebanon would ask one question: “Who is your candidate for the presidency?”
A source from Statistics Lebanon, a prominent polling and research company, confirmed the report to The Daily Star.
Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun, the March 8 presidential candidate, had proposed carrying out the poll.
Aoun’s March 14 rival, Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea, has supported the idea.
