The news of the arrest of fugitive Ahmad Assir at Beirut International Airport, as he was attempting to flee the country on Saturday triggered a chain of reactions of praise for the security apparatus.
The head of the Arab Tawhid party, former Minister Wiam Wahhab commented on the arrest, saying: “Congratulations to Sidon, the capital of South Lebanon, on the closure of its second landfill “Ahmad Assir.”
For his part, former President Michel Sleiman hailed, via Twitter, the achievement of the security forces, manifest in the arrest of fugitive Ahmad Assir.
In turn, Marada Movement Chief Sleiman Frangieh said dubbed the arrest "an important accomplishment for the Lebanese General Security forces," hoping that the Lebanese parties will unite to fight terrorism.
