The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) has once again returned to the footsteps of the predominately Syriac Christian city of Sadad in the Homs Governorate’s eastern countryside after being routed from this area by a joint contingent of pro-government fighters from the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) and the National Defnese Forces (NDR) late last month.
On Monday evening, ISIS imposed full control over the small village of Al-Hadath in the Sadad countryside after a series of violent firefights with the National Defense Forces and the Syrian Social Nationalist Party; this firefight resulted in the withdrawal of the pro-government forces to the Sadad’s outskirts.
