BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:50 P.M.) – The high-ranking Syrian Arab Army commander, General Mohammad Khaddour, has reportedly returned to the Deir Ezzor Governorate after a year-long hiatus.
General Khaddour was originally the commander of the Syrian Arab Army’s 17th Reserve Division, which was initially headquartered in Al-Raqqa and later moved to Deir Ezzor after the former was captured by the Islamic State.
A military source told Al-Masdar News on Wednesday that the recent move to send General Khaddour to Deir Ezzor was made by the Syrian Arab Army’s High Command.
