BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:37 P.M.) – As the Syrian Army intensifies their counterattack against jihadist forces in rural Hama, the Syrian and Russian air force has been playing a pivotal role in smashing their positions and reinforcements.
Syrian war choppers have destroyed numerous jihadi vehicles, killing an undisclosed number of militants. The concentration of the helicopter attacks were in Taibat al-Imam, Halfaya, al-Latamneh, Maarakbeh and Kafer Nbouda in northern Hama countryside.
Meanwhile, in Hama’s southern countryside, Russian airstrikes have targeted jihadist locations in the village of Aqrab. The small town of Aqrab became known because of a Free Syrian Army massacre where they bombed and killed 300 civilians, mostly Alawites, in the village.
