Suspected Syrian rebels fired two rockets towards eastern Lebanon on Wednesday, causing no casualties, state media reported.
Lebanon’s National News Agency said the rockets, which coincided with Syrian president Bashar al-Assad’s inauguration speech, landed near the towns of Britel and Taybeh.
The rocket attacks, targeting villages in Lebanon seen as sympathetic to Hezbollah, which is fighting alongside Syrian government forces, are usually claimed by jihadi groups.
But the cross-border attacks have drastically decreased since mid-March when the Syrian army and Hezbollah forces retook the Qalamoun mountain range along the Lebanese border, from where rebels typically fire the rockets.
