A British student is accused of trying to smuggle €20,000 ($27,223) to Syrian rebels, a court heard on Tuesday.
Nawal Msaad, 26, was arrested at London’s Heathrow airport on 16 January as she tried to smuggle money to Turkey en route to Syria.
The money was reportedly hidden in her underwear and wrapped in cling film.
Msaad said she was promised a reward of €1,000 ($1,361).
Prosecutors said she was recruited by her friend Amal al-Wahabi, 27, to help jihadist groups in Syria. Wahabi’s husband Aine Davis, 30, left last year to join jihadists.
Wahabi was arrested at her home in Willesden, northwest London, where she lives with her two sons.
