A Belgian boy aged just 13 is believed to one of the youngest of the Islamic State’s foreign fighters waging jihad in Syria, an expert on radicalisation has said.
Younes Abaaoud, is reported to have travelled to Syria with his 27-year-old brother, Abdelhamid, earlier this year.
Shiraz Maher, senior fellow at King’s College London’s International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence, said the boy from Brussels was only 13 when he left to join the Islamist fighters in January.
