"And I have found both freedom and safety in my madness, the freedom of loneliness and the safety from being understood, for those who understand us enslave something in us. But let me not be too proud of my safety. Even a Thief in a jail is safe from another thief. "

Syrian rebel commander issues general amnesty for minor crimes- Al-Masdar News

General Commander of the Saudi-backed Jaysh Al-Islam, Zahran Alloush, issued yesterday Wednesday a general amnesty for all criminal offenses, misdemeanors and minor infractions committed by the residents of areas under his control in the Eastern Ghouta.
The amnesty statement was released in the same day the former inmate returned to his stronghold in Douma after nearly a month-long trip to neighboring Jordan.
Alloush, also commander of Ghouta Unified Command, has been the subject of deadly protests in Eastern Ghouta where a number of locals have been killed and injured. Protestors took the street to complain about the unbearable living conditions as well as the corruption of rebel factions.
In the city of Al-Mo’adamiyah (nearly 10 km southwest of Damascus), Jaysh Al-Islam broke the terms of reconciliations held earlier with the Syrian Army, where large numbers of militants launched a surprise attack on checkpoints run by National Defense Forces (NDF).
