Earlier today, the Syrian Arab Army’s 154th Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division – backed by Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF), and several Iraqi paramilitary units – entered the small village of Misqan in northern Aleppo after a violent battle with the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), Jaysh Al-Mujahiddeen, Jabhat Al-Shamiyah, the Free Syrian Army (FSA), and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham.
Following their entry into Misqan, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies seized approximately half of the village, forcing the Islamist rebels to withdraw towards the east district in order to reinforce their last line of defense.
However, not long after their withdraw towards the east district, the Islamist rebel defenses fell apart once again as the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies overwhelmed the opposition fighters before establishing full control over Misqan village.
