The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” and their allies have officially routed the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) after a one week long battle that began with the aforementioned terrorist group cutting off the government’s only supply route to the Aleppo Governorate.
With the government supply route cutoff at two different sections of two different roads, the Tiger Forces, the Republican Guard, and Hezbollah were deployed to the Khanasser Plains to recapture a dozen villages that were seized by ISIS in a 48 hour time span.
The Syrian Armed Forces and their allies were able to recapture all the villages along the strategic Khanasser-Aleppo Road earlier this week; however, the final task required them to clear the checkpoints seized by ISIS along the Sheikh Hilal-Ithriyah Road, which had been cutoff on the first day of the terrorist group’s offensive.
