On Tuesday evening in northern Latakia, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard – alongside Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade), the National Defense Forces (NDF), the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), and the Syrian Marines – imposed full control over the village of Saraf after violent battle with the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
The Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade and their allies seized Saraf after advancing along a number of fronts that lead to their ultimate military objective, which is the capture of Kinsibba in Jabal Al-Akrad (Kurdish Mountains).
Earlier today, the Syrian Special Forces – led by the commandos of the 103rd Brigade – launched a wide-scale assault in the Kurdish Mountains of northern Latakia, striking the Islamist rebels at a number of villages in order to weaken their defenses around the Kinsibba perimeter.
