BEIRUT: The Future Movement Thursday called on supporters not to take to the streets in reaction to comments by a pro-Hezbollah journalist a day earlier.
"[The Future Movement] called on supporters and party members to refrain from resorting to any action that leads to blocking roads and impacts people's lives," a statement from Future said.
The public reaction came in response to comments made by journalist Salem Zahran Wednesday who used harsh language in a televised interview while saying that Prime Minister-designate Hariri have no choice but to go to Syria if told to do so by Abu Dhabi's crown prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahayan. Hariri and his party have long had strained relations with Syria.
