BEIRUT: Turkey’s ambassador to Lebanon said Friday that his country would not be part of any foreign conspiracy aimed at removing Syrian President Bashar Assad, following a meeting with a delegation from pro-Syrian Lebanese parties.
According to the National News Agency, Ambassador Inan Ozyildiz said Ankara’s policy toward Syria had not changed, adding that Turkey has an interest in Syria’s stability and supports President Bashar Assad’s program for internal reform but encourages its implementation as soon as possible to prevent foreign interventions in Syria’s internal affairs.
