DAMASCUS, (SANA) – President Bashar al-Assad received on Monday a cable from First Religious Judge of Damascus Adel Bunduk saying that the Religious Court in Damascus announced that the Tuesday August 30th is the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
Bunduk offered congratulations and best wishes to President al-Assad and the Arab and Islamic nation.
President al-Assad also received a congratulatory cable from Minister of Endowments (Awqaf) Mohammad Abelsattar al-Sayyed, wishing wellness to the nation and Muslims around the world and accentuating the noble spiritual meanings of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
Minister al-Sayyed offered congratulations and best wishes to President al-Assad, praying for Eid al-Fitr will to remain a blessed occasion for the Arab and Islamic nations. He also prayed for God to guide President al-Assad and preserve him, asking God to have mercy on the martyrs who died defending Syria and its national unity.
Minister of Justice Judge Tayseer Qala Awwad also sent a cable to President al-Assad congratulating him on this occasion and offering best wishes on behalf and the judges, lawyers and Justice Ministry workers.
In a similar cable, Grand Mufti of the Republic Dr. Ahamad Badreddin Hassoun prayed to God to preserve Syria's leader and people, stressing that consecutive ordeals are a reminder from God to resort to self-inspection and purify oneself.
Hassoun offered congratulations and best wishes to President al-Assad, praying for God to preserve him and bless Syria.
