BEIRUT: Families of 25 policemen and soldiers held hostage by militants for almost five months met Saturday with MP Walid Jumblatt, who has repeatedly called on the government to accept a swap deal to free the servicemen.
A delegation from the relatives met with Jumblatt in his residence in Mukhtara and Health Minister Wael Abu Faour attended the meeting.
Jumblatt, the head of the Progressive Socialist Party leader, has said that he supported Speaker Nabih Berri's stance to swap the servicemen with prisoners in Roumieh, acknowledging reservations the speaker might have on some prisoners.
