BEIRUT (Sputnik) — A mortar attack on the Russian Embassy in Damascus on Thursday left no injured among diplomatic mission employees, a source in the embassy told RIA Novosti.
"Several shells exploded near the territory of the embassy. There are no injured among employees. The damage inflicted to the embassy's property is not significant," the source said.
Earlier on Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said that a mortar shell hit the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Syria during shelling in Damascus.
