BEIRUT: Kataeb leader Amine Gemayel and another March 14 official Tuesday dismissed Free Patriotic Movement chief Michel Aoun’s proposals to end the presidential deadlock.
“Some suggestions come out from here and there, attempting to [manipulate] the Constitution and parliamentary work, while the only thing we need is to go to Parliament and elect a president as soon as possible,” Gemayel said after a meeting with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
Gemayel added that the country “could no longer stand the threats from outside," and that the domestic socio-economic situation has become “unbearable.”
