The ministers affirmed their “full solidarity with the Lebanese government and people,” especially in light of the violent attacks that have intensified since Monday morning, killing almost 500 people, injuring more than 1,600, and displacing tens of thousands.
The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, was chaired by Yemeni Foreign Minister Shua’a Al-Zindani.
According to a statement cited by Russia Today, the discussions focused on “the developments of the situation regarding the brutal war waged by Israel on Gaza, as well as the dangerous Israeli escalation against Lebanon.”
The ministers warned that this aggression could lead to “the ignition of a comprehensive regional war and threaten the security and stability of the entire region.”
The meeting further emphasized the need for urgent action, agreeing on the importance of “coordinating with the member states of the Islamic Group in the coming days to provide a clear message to the international community that the Israeli war of aggression must be stopped immediately.”
