Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Israel to hold talks with Israeli and Palestinian officials about the Iranian nuclear issue as well as the Syrian crisis, says a report.
On the eve of the trip, Putin's top foreign policy aide, Yury Ushakov, said it would highlight “the importance of this region (Middle East) for us and is designed to further strengthen Russia's position here,” AFP reported.
“Of course, the Syrian topic and the situation around Iran will be discussed in detail,” he said.
Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany (P5+1) held a round of talks on June 18 and 19 hosted by Moscow.
