Well, Dean, you did that introduction exactly like my sister wrote it sounds like. (Laughter.) Thank you. That was very, very generous of you.
And as we used to say in the Senate, please excuse the point of personal privilege. There are three reasons why I’ve won the races I’ve won and why I sustained winning, and they’re right here in this front row. The first one is my sister, but also the guy who got me through the 1972 campaign is one of the best political strategists I have ever known, and a man who is — as Frank — is that you, Frank, back there? Frank Fahrenkopf, the former chairman of the Republican Party. We’ve known each other a long time, back to the days when we really liked one another, Republicans and Democrats. (Laughter.)
