Non-stop battles continue to rip through the eastern city of Deir Ezzor as the Syrian forces attempt to oust the Islamic State from the oil-rich province.
The Syrian Army, backed by allied forces, is waging a sophisticated urban warfare against ISIS militants in the city’s neighborhoods and districts, but still gaining more ground amid massive jihadi collapse.
During the past few days, the Syrian troops managed to fully liberate and secure the neighborhoods of al-Ummal and al-Arfri, as well as Port Said St. following fierce clashes with the hardline militants.
According to a military source, scores of ISIS jihadists have been killed, their vehicles destroyed during the battles.
