Foreign Affairs Minister Gebran Bassil met on Tuesday with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace.
The meeting comes amid Bassil’s tour on European countries whereby talks reportedly tackled the latest developments in Lebanon.
Bassil had met earlier with European Union Foreign Policy chief Federica Mogherini in Brussels.
Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri resigned from his post on November 4th from Saudi Arabia, citing assassination plots and Hezbollah’s policies as reasons behind his resignation.
His resignation threw the country into a political crisis.
President Macron traveled to Saudi Arabia few days after Hariri's resignation but did not meet with him.
Prior to the meeting between Macron and Bassil, Hariri said via his Twitter account that he is "fine and will return to Lebanon in the next two days."
