Homs, (SANA) – Homs Governor Talal al-Barzani on Friday discussed with the UN Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Damascus Yaqoub al-Hilo and representatives of UN offices means of delivering humanitarian aid to all persons in need in the province.
Al-Barzani said that Homs Governorate has implemented 85% of the response plan for the aid program, stressing the need to increase the volume of aid to all of Homs’ areas and activate cooperation as to rebuild the damaged schools and rehabilitate the health institutions and equipment.
For his part, al-Hilo highlighted the need to continue coordination with the Syrian government as to increase the support and delivering aid to different areas in the province.
In turn, Director of the World Food Program in Syria, Mathew Hollingworth, said that the number of persons who will benefit from the humanitarian aid will be increased to 4 million.
