THE HAGUE: The Special Tribunal for Lebanon opened its fourth trial hearing Wednesday, with witnesses testifying for the first time before the court probing former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri’s 2005 assassination.
Three witnesses will speak before the trial chamber as the court's broadcast was delayed by 30 minutes to prevent confidential information being revealed accidentally during the sessions.
The prosecution has named its first witness identified as Abdul Qader Darwish whose elder brother, Mohammad, was killed in the assassination.
Darwish was one of Hariri's several bodyguards who were with the former PM at the time of the attack.
Abdul Qader said he was working at Future TV in Sin el-Fil when he heard about the explosion.
