Three Lebanese people were killed and two others injured late Monday in an air raid by Syrian warplanes in the vicinity of Ersal, a Lebanese security source said, while a car bomb injured one in the Lebanese border town.
According to the source, Syrian fighter jets dropped explosives-laden barrels on a house in the Ajram district in the vicinity of Ersal.
"The attack left three people dead and two others injured – all from the same family," the security source told Anadolu news agency.
The Lebanese army has yet to comment on the reported incident.
Meanwhile, a bomb also wounded a Lebanese man in Ersal on Monday in an attack that appeared to be linked to a local dispute, a Lebanese security official said.
Lebanese TV stations had earlier reported that the blast was caused by a car bomb. The official said the bomb had been planted in a car belonging to the wounded man's brother, who is wanted by the authorities on suspicion of opening fire on Lebanese soldiers earlier this year.
