Qamishli, Syria – Subsequent to clashes with pro-Assad forces on Tuesday, the Kurdish security forces of Asayish took control of regime institutions in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria.
A Kurdish security member told ARA News that the Asayish forces seized control of the Transportation Directorate, the Military Security building and Municipality garage, in addition to the train station –which was used as a military barrack by pro-regime National Defense militia.
In the meantime, the Asyaish forces imposed blockade on the Allaya prison, where dozens are held in detention by regime forces.
“The regime’s security forces in the city of Qamishli reached agreement with Assad forces to release the Kurdish and Arab detainees, who were captured by pro-regime militias on Monday, while the Asayish forces released officers and members of the regime’s military and political security forces,” the sources added.
