The Kataeb's second Deputy-President Salim Sayegh Friday stressed the need to rally around the Maronite Patriarch Bechara al-Rahi, noting that such a step would consolidate and empower Bkirki's role.
Following a meeting with the Patriarch, Sayegh noted that talks featured high on the presidential vote, reiterating the pressing need to elect a new head of state as soon as possible.
“The main concern is to elect a president of the state and to abide by the Constitution,” he outlined, adding that it is the sole way to safeguard the country and revitalize the state institutions.
