Former Kataeb leader Amine Gemayel slammed calls for holding parliamentary polls before the presidential election as 'utterly unacceptable', deeming such a proposal as a 'major crime' against the country.
"This is an absurd stance that entails complete vacuum," he said in a press interview.
Gemayel reiterated the need to elect a president as soon as possible, arguing that this vote would bring along the much-anticipated solution to the country's crises.
The ex-Kataeb chief stressed that dialogue is the sole option left for local factions in light of the critical phase Lebanon is witnessing, urging unwavering determination to reach positive results through the talks.
