"And I have found both freedom and safety in my madness, the freedom of loneliness and the safety from being understood, for those who understand us enslave something in us. But let me not be too proud of my safety. Even a Thief in a jail is safe from another thief. "

Druze from Sweida Mobilize to Route the Militants at Tha’lah Airbase- Al-Masdar News

It didn’t take long for the militants of the Free Syrian Army’s “1st Brigade” to agitate the nearby Durzi population in the Sweida Governorate; however, not many expected them to abruptly attack the border of this predominately Druze province in southern Syria without even weighing the implications that might arise from pressing into Jabal Al-‘Arab.
Perhaps, it was their ignorance which them to believe that the Sweida militias would remain sidelined while the FSA militants press into their province; regardless, the subsequent assault by the rebel militias has led to a large contingent of residents from the Sweida Governorate to mobilize and reinforce the Tha’lah Military Airbase on the border of Dara’a.
One  day after the capture of Brigade 52 Base near Al-Hirak, the militants from FSA’s 1st Brigade – in coordination with a conglomerate of militias that make up the Southern Front” – attacked the northwestern perimeter of the Tha’lah Military Airbase, where multiple waves of these enemy combatants attempted to break-through the Syrian Arab Army’s frontline defenses.
Unable to breach the Syrian Armed Forces’ frontline positions from the western perimeter of the airport, the militants from the Southern Front withdrew towards the town of Al-Karak in order to regroup and launch an afternoon offensive to try and capture the defensive barriers that surround the Tha’lah Airbase.
