As part of its mission to monitor the implementation of the
UN envoy Kofi Annan's plan, a number of international observers visited the city
of Daraa for the second time following their first visit yesterday to the
governorate. The team of observers had
visited yesterday the towns of Zamalka and Irbeen in Damascus Countryside. The
team members listened to a number of citizens in the towns.
Adviser in the UN mission Khaled al-Masri said that the
delegation toured the city and met citizens there.
On his part the mission's member said: "We are trying to
implement our mission which was assigned to us according to the UN Resolution
2042, with full cooperation with the Syrian Security forces and other parties.
What we need most is to build trust."
