Organizers say at least 50,000 people marched in Bahrain on Friday against this weekend's Grand Prix, as a prominent jailed human rights activist on a hunger strike has told his family he may die within the next 24 hours.
Pro-democracy protesters began their march down a highway in the capital Manama at 4pm local time.
Protests have picked up this week ahead of Sunday's race, which has been sanctioned despite the ongoing turmoil in the country.
The protest was not permitted by the government, according to opposition activist Ala'a Shehabi, but went ahead nonetheless...
